LABOUR supporters from across the county gathered together in Malvern for their annual Constituency Party dinner.

The event, held at Barnards Green cricket club, was attended by the Labour party candidate for West Worcestershire Daniel Walton as well as guest speaker John Spellar the shadow foreign minister.

In his key note speech Mr Spellar criticised the coalition's bedroom tax calling it “a vile and wicked tax which is raising no money for the chancellor but is causing suffering for many.”

He stated that the new Labour government will abolish the tax next year. He also spoke about the privatisation of the NHS and how “we cannot allow another Tory government the chance to finish of the NHS altogether”.

In his speech Daniel Walton promised to work hard for all the people of West Worcestershire “not just the select few” and he stated that he will be announcing a series of advice surgeries in the constituency for people who may have been affected by the coalition's policies.

In the meantime Mr Walton can be contacted via e-mail at daniel@wwlp.org.uk or via the Labour Party Constituency website http://www.westworcestershirelabour.org.uk/.
