THE Great Annual Cricket Match was a resounding success with glorious sunny weather and the best team (my team) winning!

The villagers, young and old, streamed into the Mackies’ paddock, and the brave and bold took to the field for the game. There seemed to be unconventional bowling, batting, fielding and scoring, but a good time was had by all. Monies raised go to Diabetes UK.

Family Communion at Christ Church is this Sunday at 9.30am. All welcome. The Tuesday morning Bible studies will now be resuming and the next will be on Tuesday, September 23, 10.15am. Please phone Brian for details (01531 633540).

The Secretary of State for Transport has promised that an allocation of state funds will be available for the improvement of roads in Herefordshire. Let’s hope that the village roads get a look-in and that all those pesky potholes and rough surfaces get suitably dealt with.

Blackberries are ripening in abundance here and there: be sure to pick your share and enjoy a blackberry pie before the season is over.
