The next St James Flea Markets will be on October 4 and will be held on the first Saturday of each month through to, and including, March 2015. Times 9am to 3pm. Tables cost £10 for the day. To book a table contact Mary Purser on 01684 310289. All proceeds to St James Church.

The next Kids Klobber Sale will be on Saturday, September 20 from 11am to 12.30pm at the Parish Hall. The hall is packed with tables, all with really good quality, nearly new babies and children’s clothes, toys and equipment. Home-made cakes, tea and coffee are available. On Saturday, September 20 at 7pm the Tredegar Orpheus Male Voice Choir will return to Welland to give a concert again in St James’ Church. This is always a really entertaining evening with a full attendance. Reserving a ticket in advance is essential. Tickets at £10 each will be available shortly from Welland and Hanley Swan Post Offices or from 01684 592088.

Following the concert a fish and chip supper with a bar will be served in the Village Hall. Tickets for the supper at an additional £6 each are limited to 50 people and to avoid disappointment early reservation is also essential. Tickets are going fast, so book them quickly!

Advance notice: The St Wulstan's Church Christmas Bazaar will be held this year on Wednesday, December 3 at the Parish Hall. More details will be published in due course, but you are encouraged to note the date in your diaries now, for what is always an excellent event. All the usual popular stalls will be present plus some others, giving those attending a good choice of items for presents and the chance to stock the larder for the festive season.
