ALL roads will lead to the Village Hall tomorrow (Saturday) for the Garden & Nature Club’s Annual Show.

The week of fine weather leading up to the show should result in some exceptional floral exhibits – a welcome change from some rain-soaked and windblown recent years! The competition classes, which include home-grown flowers, fruit and vegetables, cookery, crafts and photography, are open to non-club members and can be entered on arrival at the Hall during the set-up period between 11am and 1.30pm. After closing for judging, will re-open to the public at 2.30pm, with the presentation of prizes at 3.15pm.

Appropriately after a wonderful growing summer, and with the hedgerows still laden with blackberries, sloes and damsons, next weekend will see the annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service at St James’s Church at 10.30am Sunday, September 21.

The Village Hall will be busy again on Thursday October 2 when the committee will again be holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning from 10.30am. Fresh coffee and a superb range of home-made cakes (as well as good company and lots of local gossip!) will be available. Last year’s event raised more than £400.
