ON Saturday, September 6 we had an amazing morning when over 100 people came through our doors and heard the superb musical talents of Tim Sidford.

Tim has had the honour of playing for the Queen and, after hearing him, I would say she was honoured to hear him play. Tim played some wonderful pieces on the piano and had the audience enraptured.

One comment was “ He had me mesmerised, awesome control and dynamics and such a privilege to hear.” We are very fortunate indeed that Tim has moved to Malvern.

We were delighted that once again our friends from Community Action were able to join us and thanks to the drivers for enabling this to happen. What better way to spend a wonderful autumnal morning with the joyful sound of piano playing, amongst friends and enjoying coffee and cakes and huge selection of books to choose from to take home.

We are grateful to all who came and a wonderful total of £300 was raised towards our Roof Fund.

There is the promise of more wonderful music when, on Saturday, September 13 at 7.30pm (pre – concert talk at 6.45pm with principal Conductor Kenneth Woods), we see the return of the ESO for the first of their autumn concerts, Slavic Strings. We will hear Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, Shostakovich's Chamber Symphony and Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings. Tickets can be obtained via Worcester Live on 01905 611427, www.worcesterlive.co.uk/boxoffice or on the door.

We look forward to seeing you again at Christ Church.
