IS there a touch of Autumn in the air already?

It would certainly seem that the glorious hot summer is over. I hope you all made the most of the wonderful weather to have lots of barbecues and to get the duvets and bed covers washed!

And there’s a chance for another barbecue tomorrow, August 23, 7pm, at the Farmers Arms. Entertainment will be provided by the band, Gravelly Hill.

The recent Open Garden Day generated an amount of £817 despite the inclement weather. This brings the total amount collected for St Michael’s Hospice to £2,096. Many thanks to all concerned for making these days so enjoyable.

In a recent survey conducted by Andy Sims and Marcus Low regarding broadband in the village, the response was minimal and anyone wishing to view the results and find out more, should go to www.thinkbroadband.com

This Thursday is the Curious Blend Coffee Morning in the Memorial Hall and once again it is an opportunity for all villagers who are footloose and fancy-free to come along and enjoy a chat and some refreshments (£1). There will be second-hand books on display, as usual.

On Sunday the service at Christ Church is the Family Communion morning, 9.30am. Prayers as usual on Wednesday, 9.30am. Got a problem? Feel free to ask for prayer.

Are you coming to the Annual Cricket Challenge at the Mackies’ place? The fun starts at 2.30pm and age is no barrier! If you can’t play cricket, you may like to contribute cakes towards the grand tea. Proceeds to charity.

And finally, don’t miss the carnival on Monday. Some of the villagers will be actively supporting the floats as they make their way through Ledbury at noon.
