LINK Nurseries held a Coffee Morning to include summer activities for children on Friday, August 8.

Children made attractive miniature gardens in a tray using tiny plants, stones, model insects etc and decorated a wooden spatula stick with their name to identify their work. Soft play and bubbles were provided outside for the little ones. Prizes were awarded for the children’s gardens and adults took part in a raffle.

With the sale of cakes and raffle tickets £80 was raised for the Friends of Link Nurseries.

Make a note of the date Saturday, October 4 as there will be a day to mark Mental Health Week in Powick Parish Hall. There will be items to buy, coffee and cakes, two handmade quilts will be raffled and lots of other things to see and do. More details are available nearer the time.

Meanwhile the next regular coffee morning will be held at the nurseries on Friday, September 12 from noon when Peter will talk about tomatoes - he grows 26 different varieties at the nursery!

The long walk planned by Powick Ramblers last Monday was cancelled as the paths were too overgrown. Instead a walk along the River Teme starting from the old Knightwick Bridge was arranged instead by Cherry.

The walk next Thursday, August 28 starts at 10am from Tedstone Delamere Court, meeting at the lay-by near the church (GR694585). The four mile walk around Sapey Brook is in parts hilly and will be led by Phil (01885 832774).
