MALVERN WI

A CONVIVIAL meeting was enjoyed by 14 members at Trinity Hall on Thursday, August 7.

The President welcomed Sarah as a new member, and spoke of the funeral of long standing member Di, which she had attended.

Arrangements were made for a luncheon meeting in Trinity Hall at 12.45pm on September 4, and a light varied menu agreed. Dr Webster will be the luncheon guest and afternoon speaker, sharing his experiences as a Bush Doctor in East Africa; his talk begins at 2.30pm, followed by afternoon tea. Members of local branches have been invited to join, and the proceeds will contribute to a donation for the Holy Trinity Church Roof Fund.

The WI baton will pass through Malvern on September 10 from British Camp at 12.30pm to the Elgar Statue for 1pmthen to Lady Foley’s Tea room for 2pm, before leaving for Upton. It is hoped that its progress will be supported by as many as may!

The afternoon continued with poetry chosen and spoken by members, many evoking personal memories - especially three odes read by Anne Noble and written by her Grandmother. Lunch Club next meets on August 23 at 12.30pm, and our monthly gathering at Holy Trinity Hall on September 4.
