FORTY Members and guests of Greater Malvern Wine Society enjoyed a splendid day of wine tasting last Sunday hosted by Adrian Frost at Lake House who kindly loaned his beautiful home, gardens and lake for the day to the Greater Malvern Wine Society
The day started with Pimms at lunch time and then the special guest Nick James Managing Director Pol Roger, aided by the Society’s President Mark Savage, Master of Wine, presented 10 of his wines for the delectation of the group
Ten wines I hear you say … yes you are right we couldn’t have considered such an undertaking without some form of sustenance and the Society, with much assistance from the host Adrian, presented chef cooked venison, steak and trout ( caught by Adrian's own line in the lake ).
A wondrous day: with a stunning location, perfect weather, wine, food and company. Next year’s summer lunch will be in the vineyard at Lovells in Welland.
The next event is a coach trip to Laithwaites vineyard and fine wine store on Tuesday, August 19: the coach leaves at 5.30pm. Cost £30.
The tasting after is on September 16 and is Chilean whites and Argentine reds at the society's regular home Manor Park Club. Cost £15.
