ON Saturday, August 9 Clissett Wood celebrates 20 years with an Open Day.

From noon to 6pm there will be displays of the making of Philip Clissett chairs, the building of the timber framed barn and the history of the 10 acre woodland. Also featured will be barn owl conservation, bowl turning demonstrations, guided walks and meanderings, horse and cart rides and many other attractions. Potluck lunch, tea and cakes will be available. No dogs please. Clissett Wood, postcode HR8 1HE, is located at the top of Stanley Hill on the B4214, 5 miles north of Ledbury. At 9.30am on Sunday, August 10, there will be a service of Parish Communion and Commemoration of the First World War at Holy Trinity Church, Bosbury.

The Bosbury Church Book of Remembrance is a record of the names of the departed, whose families wish them to be remembered. The Book is always on display in Holy Trinity Church, Bosbury, open at current anniversary dates. The Book will be sent away at the beginning of October for further names to be inscribed. If you have a family member, who had close Bosbury connections and whom you wish to remember in this way, please contact Anne Williams on 01531 640287 by August 30.

Bosbury’s next Farmers’ Market and Coffee Morning will be from 10.30am to noon on Saturday, August 16, at the Parish Hall.

On Monday, August 25, Bosbury Church will have a fundraising Bric-a-brac stall at Ledbury Carnival. Now is the opportunity for you to empty those cupboards and shelves and help stock up the stall.
