By popular demand, cream teas will again be served in St James’s church each Sunday afternoon from 3pm until 5pm until the end of August.

Next item concerns this year’s car boots. The dates for this year will be August 10, 17 and 24. All start at 9am. Costs £5 for cars, £7 for cars with trailers and £10 for vans. Please park sensibly and safely whilst obeying the marshals.

The next St James Flea Markets will be on September 6 and will be held on the first Saturday of each month through to, and including, March 2015. Times:- 9am to 3pm. Tables cost £15 for the day. To book a table contact Mary Purser on 01684 310289. All proceeds to St James Church.

On Saturday, September 20 at 7pm, the Tredegar Orpheus Male Voice Choir will return to Welland to give a concert again in St James’ Church. This is always a really entertaining evening with a full attendance. Reserving a ticket in advance is essential. Tickets at £10 each will be available shortly from Welland and Hanley Swan Post Offices or from 01684 592008. Following the concert a fish and chip supper with a bar will be served in Welland Village Hall. Tickets for the supper at an additional £6 each are limited to 50 people and to avoid disappointment early reservation is also essential.
