OUR fete at Holiday Farm, Berrow, by kind invitation of Peter and Ann was a truly remarkable event for several reasons.

It must have been nearly the wettest day of the year and we were enthralled by a quintessential English country garden enhanced by marquees and gazebos and the true British grit and the determination of the hosts and smallholders to make it a success.

Well we did!

Congratulations to the faithful few who dressed for the occasion and patronised the many stalls. We salute you.

The wind did not blow and it wasn't cold and the rain eventually gave way.

The atmosphere was wonderful.

Thank you Peter for the Pimms also to Steve for braving the elements to erect the marquee in-between thunderstorms.

At present I do not have prizewinners of raffle but the winners of cup cake competition was Reuben Beard, aged 2 years 11 months. Prize for Victoria sponge was Ann Hollingsworth.

Once again a huge thank you to mine hosts for a momentous Saturday afternoon. After expenses over £400 was raised for church funds. Amazing.
