POWICK Primary School holds its Leavers’ Service on Tuesday in St Peter’s Church at 9am when Year 6 will save reflect on their life at Powick School and say good bye to their friends and teachers.
Ist Powick Brownies held a special fund-raising evening last Friday when the girls entertained their parents with a selection of their favourite songs, A promise ceremony took place after hearing from Guider Ann Leeming how the words of the promise has changed over the years since 1918. Craft items and cakes were sold and a raffle drawn to raise funds for international trips for Guides.
Don’t forget Powick Church’s fete on Saturday, July 26 from 2pm to 4pm to be held in and around the church. There will be all the usual stalls including tombola, bric-a-brac, cakes, plants, toys and books etc. Cream teas and ice cream will be served in the church and the church tower will be open. For your entertainment folk duo Morning Dew will be serenading and a drumming group playing African and India rhythms have been invited. There will be small games for children and a raffle for the adults!
