The Putley Oval is looking great; the wicket less so but, there are high hopes for a flattish wicket when the day comes.
For the first time in many years cricket is returning to Putley
The generosity of the residents at Putley Court has enabled a cricket match to be arranged in the village.
The paddock before the house will host a match between an Xl from Putley and an Xl from Aylton
The match is creating immense interest in Putley, where captain, Andy Booth, is hoping for the wisdom of Solomon in deciding who shall represent the village.
Wickets pitched at 3pm; access by the gate off the drive to Putley Court.
Loungers and parasols or umbrellas and gum boots may be de rigueur.
Whatever the outcome, the setting is glorious.
