THE July meeting was held in Val’s garden in Jennet Tree Lane.

In Doreen's absence the meeting was taken by Helen. The business was dealt with quickly and then Barbara read the report of the AGM in Leeds kindly provided by the representative from Powick WI.

A small group of members then walked up to the Old Hills to inspect the sweet chestnut trees that had been planted for the Millennium. Two remain and seem to be in good health.

For the remaining members darts, boules and a quiz were available.

When the party came together again scones with cream and home grown raspberries were enjoyed.

There is no formal meeting in August, but instead members can take part in a walk, meeting at the Village Hall at 7pm, not 7.30pm as originally planned.

The talk at the September meeting is All things Mary Quant given by Ruth Lowe.

All welcome.
