THE official opening of the Pool Piece recreational ground is this Saturday, July 12 at 3.30pm.

You are all invited to try out the landscaped seating (or bring your own chairs) and enjoy some light entertainment. Richard Allsopp has written a poem, and the junior WHADS are acting out a short drama. Bring your own picnic and join in the fun. Once again we thank our sponsor, BIFFA, for their generous support for this project.

The much-enjoyed village pantomime will be happening again this year and the first cast get-together will be held on Sunday, July 13 from pm3-5pm in the Memorial Hall. If you have responded to the calls for cast members but are unable to attend on July 13, please contact Richard on 635277 or Karen on 637316 before then. The performances will be on November 27-29 and the main rehearsals will be held on Sunday afternoons from September onwards.

The first Open Garden day this summer is Sunday, July 20, 2pm-6pm, £5 for adults and children under 12 are free. This price includes entry into Hope End School House, Church Lane, 1 Oak Tree Close, The View, Ochre Hill, and The Old Vicarage, Church Lane. Please don’t bring your dog but do bring some change to buy plants, refreshments and raffle tickets. Fabulous prizes to be won!

This Sunday’s it's the Family Service at Christ Church, 9.30am. Wednesday prayers continue at 9.30am.

That's all folks! Get as much Vitamin D as you can while we enjoy this lovely sunny weather.
