JUNE Mason welcomed members to the meeting on Tuesday, April 1 and introduced the speaker for the evening, Annie Hartwright, who gave a very informative and interesting talk on Osteoporosis. Several members asked questions and Pauline McCallum gave a vote of thanks.

June and Angie Pulford attended the recent meeting to discuss the proposed centenary baton celebrations to be held on September 12 at the Guild Hall, Worcester. Members will be asked to provide biscuits and cakes and to help serve teas.

Luncheon at the Yorkshire Grey had been very well attended and Gill Gardiner and Pauline McCallum were thanked for their continued efforts in arranging the lunches. Members were advised of the dates and venues for the Book Club, Playlets and the Embroidery Group. Pat Handley has organised a successful start with the Painting Group, with fortnightly lessons arranged.

Birthday posies were presented to Pauline Phillips and Shirley Smith. The lovely table decoration was given to Heather Clark to mark her recent 50th wedding anniversary. Betty Fain won the monthly competition.

The next meeting on May 6 will be the AGM/Resolution Meeting with the opportunity for members to sample cakes and swap recipes.
