THREE centuries after J S Bach composed music to soothe his insomniac patron, Baron von Keyserling, the Goldberg Variations, named after the harpsichordist who was to play them, can now be appreciated by music lovers attending a study day on Bach's Goldberg Variations at Hellens Manor, Much Marcle near Ledbury on Saturday, April 26.

Organised by the Ledbury Branch of the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association), tutor Andrew Morris will illuminate the keyboard masterpiece with the help of the magnificent Steinway piano at Hellens Barn.

The study day starts at 10.40am and finishes at 3.30pm and costs £20. Tea and coffee will be available but please bring a packed lunch.
