A meeting of the Hot Peppers WI was held in The Church Rooms on Wednesday, March 26.

President, Cathy Bester, opened the meeting ably supported by Sue Mynard. There were a number of visitors and a lot of members which is very encouraging.

The scheduled speaker was unable to attend and so the much anticipated chocolate tastings were not possible but members were well catered for with ample dishes of chocolates on the tables. The committee had conjured up a Chocolate and Sweet quiz which had everyone using their skill and imagination to find the answers.

As a relatively new club, there are still a lot of things which members have to become acquainted with and these and fund-raising events, were discussed.

The Jazz Festival, Blues Festival, WICentenary and the possibility of a tea dance to commemorate 100 years since the war, were topics mentioned.

Nolene Twist presented the financial report which looks very healthy.

It was announced that there would not be a craft evening that week as the hostess and very competent advisor, Sue White, had been taken ill - members sent her a card wishing her a speedy recovery. Members were asked if they would like to be on the Committee in order to spread out the tasks. Once again, Jane Nicholson, had done a brilliant job of the teas which was enjoyed by all.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 23 in the Church Rooms at 7.30pm. It will be the first Annual General meeting followed by Make-up and Beauty tips. Get prepared for those summer holidays!
