PUT together 40 children with flutes and recorders, a lovely summer’s evening, sensational playing and what do you get?
A very happy audience of more than 100 people.
We were thrilled to welcome the Suzuki Summer School from Malvern St James on Saturday evening, August 3.
With ages ranging from 4 to 17 they produced the most joyous music.
A wide range of composers from Telemann, Handel, Bach, Schubert, Sammartini, Gluck and, of course, Suzuki were show cased to perfection.
There was group playing as well as some most accomplished solos featuring pieces by Gluck and Sammartini.
The most astonishing thing was they needed no music.
This is the method they learn how to play and play they did.
All this and they raised £200 towards our new roof. A huge thank you to the audience, the Suzuki teachers, accompanists and, most importantly, the delightful children.
