A WORCESTERSHIRE hotel has appointed a new general manager.

Hallmark Hotel Stourport Manor in Hartlebury Road has appointed Matt Ward as the new general manager.

Mr Ward brings with him experience of previously working at Novotel and the DeVere Group, and will be responsible for managing a team of 70 alongside the running of the hotel in his new role.

The hotel has 72 bedrooms and features a homely restaurant, the Hallmark Grill.

The Victorian stately-home hotel, which was once home to British Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, also features 11 different meeting spaces for up to 350 delegates.

Mr Ward said: “I am thrilled to join the brilliant team.

"The hotel was ranked the top wedding venue in the West Midlands two years in a row, I’d like to continue to grow this, and put the hotel forward for even more awards to recognise how strong the conference and events offering is.

“I am also excited to continue to support local charities like Kemp Hospice, as well as building on a strong community presence in our local area.”
