A WORCESTERSHIRE swim school has held a fundraiser at an event helping to teach water safety.

Puddle Ducks, the learn to swim franchise for children, holds three pyjama parties and its most recent raise cash for Deaf Direct, which helps deaf children and their families.

The company is the largest swim school partner of the Swimming Teachers Association and the Worcestershire franchise started teaching swimming in January 2011.

The firm, which has offices in St Mary's Street in central Worcester, brings its fun and effective classes to many parents and their little ones at various pools in the region.

Last year Puddle Ducks raised an amazing £55,000 nationally and this year they are hoping to do even better.

Kate Attwood, from Puddle Ducks Worcestershire said: “We are really happy to be combining supporting a great cause with our pyjama parties.

"Puddle Ducks hold a pyjama party three times a year, we have a real focus on fun, but there’s a serious message behind it.

"Being in water in clothes helps children to realise how it could feel if they got into trouble while out playing.

"In a controlled environment in a pool they can learn how to cope with this situation, so if it unfortunately happened out there in the real world, they’d be more equipped to deal with it.”
