UNIVERSITY of Worcester's business school has been helping to train a team of managers in leadership and management.

The managers, from Herefordshire-based Oakwrights, attended a special awards ceremony at the University's business school’s historic City Campus to collect their diploma in the subjects.

The diploma was an adaptation of the University’s established leading to excellence management development programme, and was delivered at Oakwrights’ Herefordshire show house and head office in Swainshill.

Bill Keir, Oakwrights commercial director, said: “The University of Worcester business school’s approach allowed us to take time to fully understand the business need and together we developed a solution to achieve our leadership and development objectives.

"As an employer, Oakwrights is committed to the development of our people and this is a good example of our approach.”

Tim Maxfield, director of business development, added: "We are delighted to have worked with Oakwrights. This type of programme emphasises the role the business school can play.

“Up-skilling in the area of leadership and management is a high priority in the West Midlands."
