A BRAND new food hall and restaurant has opened to the public at a garden centre near Droitwich.

The project has now been completed at the Webbs of Wychbold in Worcester Road, and focuses on local foods and international produce.

The new facility features an onsite butchery including a state-of-the-art Himalayan Salt Chamber, a cheese and deli counter, a gelato bar, a bakery and patisserie, a chocolate library, a wall of wine, local beers and ciders, Buxtons master butchers and a restaurant offering a wide selection of homemade hot dishes, salads, sandwiches, handmade cakes, and loose-leaf.

Afternoon tea is served daily including fresh scones.

The new Food Hall serves a rotating selection of local, seasonal fruit and vegetables as well as all of the necessary ingredients needed to whip up a storm in the kitchen at home. This fresh produce is also used daily by the team of chefs in the restaurant.

The cheese and deli counter provides 100 varieties of cheese, ranging from UK options such as Croome and Colston Bassett, to the best from the continent with directly imported cheese from small French and Italian artisan producers.

Dudley Clifford, head of food at Webbs, said: “The Food at Webbs food hall and restaurant really does offer a new and exciting food destination in the Midlands - it is a feast for all of the senses.

"As a team, we’ve worked very hard to source the finest local, national and world food, working with partners who are the very best at what they do.

“Having Buxton Butchers on board as our in-house master butchers is a real coup for us, with each visit customers can now choose from a range of exceptional food and drink from right across the food hall range, enabling them to produce stunning dishes at home.”
