A WORCESTERSHIRE outsourcing firm is in the running for a prestigious national award.

The Sigma Financial Group, which has an office in Redditch, is shortlisted in the Outsourced Collections provider of the year category at the 2017 Credit Awards – a national awards scheme showcasing the best businesses and individuals in the credit sector.

The firm, which employs more than 450 people, has been recognised for its outsourcing services to the energy and retail sectors, where it has successfully helped several blue-chip brands improve their customer service offering.

It is up against five other companies in the category.

Gary Gilburd, Sigma's chief executive, said: “To be shortlisted for any award is fantastic, but one which recognises the service our people give customers is extra special.

“We have worked extremely hard over the past 12 months to introduce new and refreshed training programmes and ensure we get to know clients inside out.

"That approach has paid off as we’ve seen our most successful 12 months – adding new clients and delivering on our promises.

“We cannot wait for the ceremony and hope we can bring the award back to the West Midlands.”

Sigma, which has its headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, has clients including major blue chip organisations from the utilities, financial services, retail and telecommunications industries.

A glitzy awards evening is being held on Thursday, May 11, at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The award nomination caps a successful six months for the company, winning an award at the Credit Strategy Utility and Telecommunications Awards last year.
