A COUNTY law firm has come out on top in a prestigious category in the Worcestershire Law Society awards.

Mfg Solicitors' employment and HR services department won the professional discipline award at the society's ceremony held at Stanbrook Abbey on April 7.

Led by Sally Morris, the department has built a renowned reputation for its services to large employers, small businesses and for employees across the county and the UK.

In the past year the number of clients has successfully grown by 25 per cent, with the team also hosting a variety of seminars and interactive workshops to help guide business leaders and directors through complicated employment law matters.

Partner and chairman of Mfg Solicitors Maynard Burton said: “We are all extremely proud of the recognition our employment department has received at this year’s awards.

“The team delivers the best advice for clients time and time again – helping businesses step over the many pitfalls in what is a hugely complex area of law.

“Sally operates to the highest standards and has gained a UK-wide reputation over the past decade. Those high standards rub off on her team and the award is testament to their professionalism and commitment. It’s a tremendous milestone for the firm.

“To be recognised as Worcestershire’s top employment and HR legal department reflects the team’s hard work and the results we achieve for our clients, not just in the past 12 months, but over several years.

“We are delighted with the award in what is already proving to be another successful year.”

Also shortlisted from the firm at the awards were farming expert Helen Gough, trainee solicitor Jack Morley, and Sally Morris’s personal assistant, Lian Styring.
