LIONCOURT Homes, the Worcester-based new homes developer which was only set up ten years ago, won housebuilder of the year at the annual Housebuilders Dinner in London.

The company is currently building new homes at Saxon Meadows, Kempsey and with 40 others across central England and is one of the fastest growing housebuilders in the UK. In addition, it was recently declared the 25th fastest growing business in the country, across all sectors, by the Sunday Times.

It is a remarkable success story for a business that was only formed 10 years ago when chief executive Colin Cole decided to walk away from a senior role with Persimmon after its acquisition of another industry giant, Westbury Homes. Headquartered on Apex Business Park in Wainwright Road, it is now a major employer in the county and plans for significant growth.

Mr Cole said: "'The success at Lioncourt rests on the fantastic team of staff, contractors, suppliers and advisors who work tirelessly to make sure that Lioncourt is propelled forward in line with our growth plans, while focusing on our overall desire to build quality homes and deliver exceptional service to our customers.

"We have so much to be proud of in the Lioncourt Group and while it is important to be successful it is far more important to be successful in the right way. I am particularly pleased that we are one of only 14 housebuilders in the UK to be holders of the prestigious 5 Star Quality Award which is based on direct customer feedback to independent industry body, the House Builders Federation. This typifies everything that is so good about the Company."

Mr Cole formed Lioncourt in 2006 alongside Neil Chandler, finance director, whose careers have been intertwined for more than 33 years. A careful course was chartered through the difficult recessionary times and Lioncourt emerged in excellent shape to take advantage of the new market conditions at the end of the recession. Since then it has seen phenomenal growth.
