THE new owner of a Malvern butcher's has pledged to modernise the store through a number of new ideas.

Adam Cook, aged 23, from Tibberton in Gloucestershire took over the AMC Meats store four weeks ago and has already introduced venison to the meats on offer as well as Longhorns beef, with wild boar to follow shortly.

As well as new meats, Mr Cook aims to bring in new fridges in the Poolbrook Road store which is the first shop that he has owned, having previously worked for several butcher companies.

Mr Cook said: "I absolutely love my job and I think it is much better running my own store, and being my own boss, it is very stressful but I love coming into work everyday.

"After working for a few companies, I thought now is the time to do it on my own.

"I am really pleased by how it is going so far, with many of the old customers returning as well as a number of new customers."

Mr Cook's family have strong connections to the industry, with both his grandfather and his father previously owning and working in butchers.

Mr Cook has been a butcher ever since he left school.

He said about his move to Malvern: "Malvern is a very busy little town and as soon as I visited the store I knew that I wanted to work here.

"I actually heard about the shop from a delivery driver who knew I was looking to open my own shop."
