A HIGHLY topical debate, all about the pros and cons of leaving the European Union, is to be held in Worcestershire.

Organised by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, the free Brexit event will take place at the offices of mfg Solicitors in Birmingham Road, Kidderminster, on Thursday, May 12, starting at 4.30pm.

It will be chaired by Chamber chief executive Mike Ashton, who said: "The results of our latest snap poll, which took place at the Chamber Expo show that 65 per cent of businesspeople in Herefordshire & Worcestershire wish to stay in the EU, while 24 per cent wanted to leave and 11 per cent were undecided. However many businesses across the two counties are split over whether we should stay in or leave. Join us to listen and ask questions to a leading panel of speakers, including Johnnie Arkwright, chairman of Britain for Business West Midlands, Malcolm Harbour, Britain Stronger in Europe and Mark Garnier, MP for the Wyre Forest."

The debate will include "a balanced economic introduction" by Chris Walklett, tax partner of accountants Bishop Fleming.
