A WORCESTERSHIRE farming family has found an innovative use for some redundant agricultural buildings.

The new business venture based at Weights Farm in Redditch offers purpose built storage solutions for commercial and domestic customers across the West Midlands. Called Reddistores Self Storage, it has opened after a £340,000 investment supported by Barclays. With more than 200 units ranging from 25 sq. ft. to 380 sq. ft. complete with 24 hour CCTV and individual access codes the new facility combines flexibility and security for every storage requirement.

Adam Wood, managing director at Reddistores Self Storage Ltd said: “The new business venture is a diversification from the family farm based at Weights Farm. I already run a successful skip hire business, but spotted an opportunity to develop some unused buildings on the farm to generate another revenue stream. With units available from £12 a week we have storage solutions for both domestic and commercial customers.”

Neil Barnes, Barclays relationship director, added: "By really understanding the business and the industry sector, Barclays has been able to provide a funding package to support Reddistores Self Storage Ltd throughout this exciting new venture. A £340,000 investment in the new premises demonstrates both Barclays and Reddistores confidence in the success of the business. They have created a top of the range storage facility, creating great accessibility for cars and vehicles, fully heated with 24 hour alarm monitoring.”
