IT was quite some birthday present and it came with love from Worcestershire.

For when Stoke City footballer Peter Crouch wanted to surprised his model wife Abbey Clancy with a classic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL for her 30th birthday he went to classic car specialist The SL Shop of Stockwood, near Inkberrow.

The low mileage, immaculate SL – worth around £50,000 – was presented to Abbey on her January 11 birthday, prompting her to share the image on her Instagram account with the caption: "Born on the same day as me".

Sam Bailey, SL Shop founder, said: "We worked with Peter to find the perfect SL. It had to be a 1986 model and we were happy to help. Seeing the car shared around the Internet with a huge bow on the bonnet made us feel immensely proud. The 300SL has such a wide appeal, we know of a number of high profile and well known owners but to see one of our cars being so widely shared and appreciated is quite a treat. We hope Peter and Abbey are able to enjoy their 300 this summer."

Abbey Clancy will be starring as head judge in the upcoming reality TV series Britain’s next top model, the show that launched her career 10 years ago.
