A WORCESTER lingerie business has won a top award for its excellence in specialist fitting.

Embrace Boutique in Reindeer Court took the special care recognition category in the Stars awards, the Oscars of the lingerie industry, at the Globe Theatre, London. This is aimed at shops specialising in the fitting of prostheses, post-surgical underwear, nightwear and swimwear. Excellent technical knowledge and professionally trained staff are an essential for finalists.

Lisa Farrington-Martin, who launched Embrace in October 2013 with her sister Paula Farrington, said: "We aim to give a unique experience to every single customer whether that be a mainstream bra, mastectomy bra or wig fitting. We are so pleased to have been selected to receive such a prestigious industry award and we look forward to helping many more women feel beautiful and more confident.”

The business has two parts. The first caters for women affected by breast cancer. The sisters are specialists in mastectomy bra and prosthesis fitting and they have been awarded the Anita Centre of Excellence Certificate. They are also trained wig fitters and supply wigs for both NHS and private patients, with a large selection of wigs in the boutique to choose from. In addition, they stock specially selected skin and body care including a range specifically designed for patients going through chemotherapy treatment or for those with especially sensitive skin.

The second side of the business caters for women buying mainstream lingerie, but especially for those who have difficulties buying from high street stores. Embrace’s cup sizes range from AAA to KK and their back sizes from 28 to 50. Cup sized swimwear and a range of luxury nightwear, maternity, bridal and sports bras are also in stock.
