THERE'S a home fit for a hero waiting to be snapped up in Worcester.

Despite lots of enquiries, Rooftop Housing Group has so far been unable to find an owner for a new £95,000 three bedroom semi-detached house it is selling at the Norton Barracks development to the south of the city. The property is part of Rooftop's Homes for Heroes initiative and with a 50 per cent shared ownership, must go to serving or ex military personnel.

Tim Wade, head of development at Rooftop Housing Group, said: "Since coming on the market these affordable homes for returning or retired service people have proved very popular and now there’s only one left. We’ve had lots of people apply for the home, but unfortunately they don’t meet the specific criteria for this very special development. “This scheme forms part of Rooftop’s commitment to the Worcestershire Armed Forces Community Covenant. It’s a great shame that there’s a family out there who need a home, but don’t know that this final house is available”.

To take advantage of this new development people applying have to register with Wychavon DC Home Choice Plus, their local Help To Buy agent and be serving or ex military.
