WORCESTER law firm Medical Accident Group has been awarded the franchise to provide legal aid services across the whole of the Midlands area for birth injury claims.
Part of solicitors Harrison Clark Rickerbys, which is headquartered in High Street, MAG is a clinical negligence and personal injury specialist and one of only 135 law firms in the UK currently hold a legal aid clinical negligence franchise.
Although it already offers qualifying clients the option of bringing a case with the firm under a no win, no fee scheme, fees need to be paid when a client wins a case and receives an award. With legal aid, no disbursements or fees are payable, meaning the whole of the award goes directly to the claimant there is no worry about how the case will be funded.
MAG partner Inez Brown said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this support to those who are already dealing with such tragic and difficult circumstances. Birth injuries not only have a major impact on the child, but also on their family, as they adjust to a very different future than they had dreamed of before their child was born.” The franchise starts in November.
