TEN organisations from across Worcestershire and Herefordshire have been successful in this year’s Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

They are led by Roxel (UK Rocket Motors Ltd) of Kidderminster, which has been handed an Order of Distinction for winning 21 consecutive gold awards, and Allinsons Silver Spoon of Hereford, which has won a gold medal for seven consecutive gold awards.

The first set of awards was presented at ExCEL London in June followed by two ceremonies at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel in July. Another ceremony will take place at the Hilton Glasgow on September 17.

Dating back 59 years, the RoSPA Awards recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work, the steps that organisations take so their workers can go home to their families, safe and healthy at the end of each day.

Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “We would like to congratulate all our RoSPA award winners on their success. They have shown commitment to improving health and safety and we hope that their achievement will encourage other organisations to strive to meet the same standards.”

Among the successful organisations in this year’s RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards were: Sodexo Healthcare of Hereford (gold award),
