IT was a purple day at accountants Kendall Wadley as the company raised money for the Stroke Association.

At the Malvern practice staff dressed in purple, baked purple cakes and had their blood pressure taken all in the aid of a good cause.

Stuart Cooper, community development and partnerships manager for the Stroke Association, who lives in Malvern, said: "High blood pressure is often referred to as the silent killer because it doesn’t present symptoms and many people have no idea their health may be at risk. We are thrilled that Kendall Wadley held a Purple Day for us as it is such a vital way for us to raise much needed funds for our work with stroke survivors and their families throughout Worcestershire. It is also such a brilliant way to look after the health and wellbeing of their staff as they will all have gone home after work knowing their blood pressure and being able to share with loved ones how to reduce their risk of stroke. It would be amazing if more businesses would follow suit and spare some time to focus on stroke in their busy day.”

Christine Perks, Kendall Wadley associate, added: "Some of the staff at Kendall Wadley have had personal experience of friends and family having a stroke, so to learn more about it, and to have our blood pressure checked was very important."
