COMPANIES were able to find out how to negotiate the best prices with tough professional buyers at a free breakfast meeting in Worcester.

At Finditinworcestershire’s "How to negotiate with professional buyers" event, Counterpoint Courses used its 20 years’ experience sitting at the negotiation table to give businesses an insight of the negotiation process of selling a service and the thinking behind what is going on.

Steve Mallaband and Ros Howard, buying experts from Counterpoint, gave a demonstration of the negotiation process and an insight into the mind of the buyer and the professional procurement process.

More than 100 local businesses attended the event at Sixways stadium and made the most of the morning by taking part in Finditinworcestershire’s networking session, where they were able to build contacts and secure connections with businesses throughout the county.

Kathryn Wagstaff, project manager of Finditinworcestershire, said: "With their interactive demonstration of a negotiation scenario, Steve and Ros showed Finditinworcestershire members how getting from a bid to a deal doesn’t have to be a daunting process and negotiation is a skill that can quickly be learnt and developed. We have already had a great level of feedback about the demonstration and it has really improved attendees confidence in negotiating the best deal for their business.”
