TRAINING providers and employers are being reminded to put forward nominees for this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards before they close on Sunday, May 31.

Once again organised by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire.Business.Central, the awards will be hosted by television business presenter Steph McGovern at West Midland Safari Park on the evening of November 12.

This year there are 13 awards available to recognise some of the Worcestershire's most successful apprenticeships. Categories for this year’s awards include: apprentice of the year; higher, advanced and intermediate level apprentices of the year, pre-apprentice of the year, school of the year, plus five employers awards, training provider of the year and apprentice ambassador of the year.

Gary Woodman, executive director at Worcestershire LEP, said: “This year’s awards will once again recognise the excellence of Worcestershire’s apprentices and I would urge everyone to nominate an apprentice or an employer for these awards before May 31. More than 10,000 people are currently participating in an apprenticeship scheme in the county and this is an opportunity to celebrate some of their successes.”

Judy Chadwick, skills and investment manager at Worcestershire County Council, said: “We are already receiving a large amount of nominations in anticipation for this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards and we look forward to being able to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the county’s apprentices on 12 November at the awards ceremony.”
