A COUNTY affordable housing provider has added some new building blocks to its growing team.

Bromsgrove-based bdht (Bromsgrove District Housing Trust) has been joined by John Whitwam, who has taken up the position of head of housing solutions, apprentice Steph Weston, James Parker, a multi-skilled tradesman in the Voids team, and senior surveyor Seranne Bridge.

Mike Brown, chief executive of bdht, said: “We are pleased to welcome our new recruits to the ever expanding team. We are proud to be one of the biggest and best employers in the area. We’re always pleased to be able to offer employment to local people.

“bdht has a strong focus on integrity in the workplace; it is a value-driven organisation where people want to work and are happy in their roles. One of the best things for me as a chief executive is that 99 per cent of employees say they are proud to work for bdht. I hope that our new team members settle into their roles well and wish them every success for their futures here.”

Not only is bdht Bromsgrove’s largest provider of affordable housing, but also one of the town’s biggest employers. It was recently ranked fifth in in the Sunday Times Best Not for Profit Companies to work for.

The rankings are decided by The Sunday Times and the poll, which looks at the best companies to work for across the UK, is based entirely on employee feedback in areas such as leadership, wellbeing, personal growth and how happy the workforce is. It also identifies how employees contribute to their company’s success and growth, which in turn sets a benchmark for other employers.
