OLYMPIC-winning strategies were shared to help aid Worcestershire businesses during an event held this week.

Finditinworcestershire teamed up with Worcestershire.Business.Central to bring county businesses going for growth, an event at the Sixways Conference Centre on Tuesday (March 17), which offered attendees a variety of performance principles and tools they could apply to their career and business to be more effective.

Expert speaker and Olympic gold medalist, Ben Hunt Davis MBE, used his experience as a member of Great Britain’s rowing eight at Sydney 2000 to explain how success is driven by more than simply working hard.

He said: "There are thousands of small and medium-sized businesses in this country, and they’re massively important if the economy is going to continue to grow. I myself have a small business, so I will do what I can to help others in the same position.

"Make sure everyone in your company is clear about what you’re doing and what course you’re taking and what’s going to take you in that direction."

Almost 200 local businesses attended the event, which was extended to midday to allow for attendees to visit workshops from industry experts in topics such as social media, employment law and leadership and management.
