A NEW champagne and cocktail bar has opened in Reindeer Court, Worcester, one of four new upmarket tenants aiming to boost footfall in the city centre mall.

The arrival of Alexanders, which has a capacity of 600 and a licence to 3am, has created up to 20 new jobs in Worcester.

Reindeer Court has also welcomed Gaudet Luce – which sells high end golf clothing from the likes of Ian Poulter, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren – and quirky gadgets, games and toys store The Hide ‘n’ Geek, a start-up by entertainer Simon Cooper.

The fourth addition is the new Worcestershire Apprenticeship and Training Academy hair salon above The Cutting Edge, where students will operate among professionals to provide hair and beauty styling.

Alexanders is the brainchild of Worcester born-and-bred Alexander Fell, who has worked in premium hospitality for a number of years and has spent the last two years planning and implementing his vision for the new bar.

He said: "We saw a gap in the market for a premium venue focusing on customer service, exciting events and world class brands and are really excited to bring this vision to fruition."

The four additions are set to boost the reputation of Reindeer Court, opposite The Shambles entrance to Marks & Spencer, as a prime city centre destination and a hive of speciality bars and shops from fashion to florists and jewellers to gift shops.

Property agent Charlotte Fullard from Halls Commercial said: 'We think Alexanders and the new hair salon will add to what is already a distinctive Worcester destination and we're always happy to hear from other speciality retailers who want to become a part of this prestigious city centre destination.'
