A FUN day organised by Cash Converters Worcester store raised £850 towards the national children's charity Dreams Come True.

It was held in conjunction with a cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats by the firm's mascot Cashie the Cat, which eventually brought in £85,000. The cyclists stopped off in Worcester during their ride to help with the local event, which included games, raffles, a football tournament and competitions.

Mick Jones, operations director of the Worcester Cash Converters store, said: “We are thrilled that nationally the team has managed to raise a staggering £85,000. We are so proud of them and are delighted that our fun day was able to contribute £850 towards the total.”

Peter Newman, Dreams Come True chief executive added: "I would like to personally thank all of those involved in the fundraising efforts over the last six months. We are hugely grateful to Cash Converters for their unwavering support throughout our partnership. Volunteers such as those who took part in the cycle are the reason we are able to continue the important work we do at Dreams Come True.”
