SALARY sacrifice schemes are making it easier to fund children at independent schools and now an audit, tax and advisory firm is holding a seminar to explain who qualifies and the benefits that can be achieved.
Crowe Clark Whitehill is organising the free event at Sixways Stadium, Worcester on Thursday, September 25. It will run from 10am to 4pm with registration beginning from 9.30am.
Crowe Clark Whitehill partner Guy Biggin, who has a wealth of experience advising the charity and education sectors, said: “Salary sacrifice is a long established scheme whereby an employee agrees to accept a lower gross salary, in exchange for a non cash benefit which is exempt from income tax and national insurance contributions. This is relatively common these days for pensions and childcare vouchers, but many independent schools now have a similar arrangement in relation to discounted school fees. For example, where a staff member has a child at the school it can benefit both the staff member and the school. Significant savings are available and this seminar will outline the opportunities which exist.”
