NEVER mind the Tour of Britain, staff at a Worcestershire Asda have raised £450 for the NSPCC’s ChildLine Schools Service after holding a sponsored in-store cycle.

The fundraising event at Asda in Broad Street, Bromsgrove saw employees take shifts on a static bike, spinning their way through the day for 12 hours, covering an incredible distance to raise money for the service which is provided by the NSPCC.

Sandra Woakes, Blakemore retail trainee manager who helped to organise the event, said: "We are thrilled to have raised so much to help vulnerable children and young people. It was hard work spinning our way through the day but our customers were so generous in their donations that all the effort was worth it. We are now preparing for our 12 hour zumbathon which is due to take place in a couple of weeks.”

All money raised will support the ChildLine Schools Service, a ground-breaking service which has been set up to give primary school children the awareness they need to recognise abuse and seek help sooner.
