WORCESTER, Bosch Group has made it on to the shortlist for the Works Management Factory of the Year and is in line to pick up a whole clutch of category wins.

The industry awards, which are presented in partnership with Cranfield University School of Management, have judged the heating manufacturer’s headquarters in Warndon to be in the top 14 factories in the UK, competing against brands including Coca Cola Enterprises and Brita Water Filter Systems.

Almost a third of the company’s 1500-strong workforce is employed in the manufacturing department at the Cotwold Way factory, which has also been shortlisted for a further seven awards including best engineering plant and the judge’s special award.

Carl Arntzen, managing director of Worcester, Bosch Group said: “Worcester prides itself on making sure its factory is the best it can be in order to meet the exceptional quality of our products. It is also so important to enhance job satisfaction and safety for our employees as well making sure we meet strict regulations for the environment. For example, thanks to lean manufacturing processes and stock profiling across all major merchants, Worcester is able to ensure lead appliances are available off the shelf at times of peak demand.

“It is an honour that our work has been recognised by such a renowned institution as the Cranfield School of Management as part of the Best Factory Awards. Not only is it a huge achievement to have been shortlisted for Factory of the Year, but also to have been nominated for seven further awards so we are very much looking forward to the awards ceremony.”

The Works Management Factory of the Year finals will take place in London on September 26 .
