A VISIT to Evesham Vale Growers provided a ripe opportunity for Worcestershire Ambassadors to champion a tasty county success story.

With more than 60 tonnes a week of five varieties of tomatoes grown at its five hectare site near Fladbury, Evesham Vale Growers produce is eaten across the UK and Europe. A group of 20 Worcestershire Ambassadors was given a guided tour by managing director Andrew Bille and learned more about the growing process and the innovative renewable energy saving processes the company implements.

Worcestershire Ambassador board member Lance Turner from Harris Lamb said: “One of the benefits to being a Worcestershire Ambassador is that there are opportunities, such as these site tours, to showcase your business to other Ambassadors. This means that they in turn can talk about each business to their contacts and networks. It is an effective way of learning about the amazing businesses that thrive here in our county, and helps raise awareness of what they do.”

Andrew Bille, managing director of Evesham Vale Growers, added: “I am very proud that my tomatoes are enjoyed far and wide for their quality and taste, so was happy to show the Worcestershire Ambassadors around and explain what we do. I hope to be able to join in future visits to other Worcestershire business successes.”
