Festive fun is in store on Saturday

MUSIC, a visit from Father Christmas and even a Christmas Pudding Race are all part of a day of festive fun taking place in Bromyard on Saturday, November 22.

From 10am to 3pm, the Heritage Centre will hold a Christmas bazaar and book sbale, featuring a wide variety of stalls and music from the Tenbury Town Band.

St Michael’s Hospice Bromyard and District Support Group holds its annual Christmas craft fair from 10am to 5pm at Falcon Mews, and the Bromyard and District Local History Society’s Christmas Fair takes place from 2pm to 6pm in the Local History Centre in Sherford Street.

At 2.30pm, Father Christmas will embark on a sleigh ride from the town council offices in Rowberry Street to the town square, where he will meet children in his festive grotto.

His procession will be led by the Tenbury Town Band, and any children who would like to take part in the parade should be at the council offices by 2.15pm.

At 3pm Bromyard’s first ever Christmas Pudding Race starts at the Falcon Hotel.

Teams of runners will complete a relay race from the hotel to the Bromyard Centre and back again whilst carrying a pudding on the end of a stick. The first team to make it back and set their pudding alight with a measure of brandy will be crowned the winner.

The day will conclude with Bromyard’s Christmas Lights Switch-On Ceremony, taking place in the Square at 5.30pm.
