Health centre plunged into darkness

WITH just days to go before the grand opening of a new Bromyard business the hopes of its owners have been plunged into darkness by a lack of electricity.

Mother and daughter team Clare and Michelle Davies had planned to celebrate the launch of the Osteopathy and Natural Health Centre with an open day tomorrow (Saturday) featuring guest speakers, free advice and visits from local dignitaries.

Clare said: “It’s hugely disappointing for us.”

The pair said they had paid their electricity distributor more than £4,000 in May but with just days before the opening realised they had failed to complete the right paperwork.

Among the invited guests were Bromyard’s mayor, cllr Jonathan Lester, town crier Peder Nielsen and specialists in various forms of complementary therapy.

The day was also intended to offer existing and prospective patients the chance to hear about the supposed health benefits services on offer there.

Clare said: “We have tried to call all of the patients coming to let them know it is cancelled, but we will still have their wait there on Saturday morning in case anyone turns up who we couldn’t get in touch with.”
