A WOMAN whose car hit the home of her mother-inlaw has been given a driving disqualification.

Amanda Gordon, aged 47, of Buthall Green House, Hanley Castle, pleaded guilty at Worcester Crown Court to dangerous driving on January 3 this year.

Gordon hit the house of Anne Sippets in Church End, Hanley Swan and also damaged a memorial bench.

She also admitted damaging a BMW estate vehicle belonging to her estranged husband Stephen Gordon.

She denied a charge of damaging the house, being reckless whether life would be endangered, on the same day.

This charge was not proceeded with but she admitted deliberately damaging the property.

A previous hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court heard Gordon had smashed windows at a home rented by her mother-in-law before driving at her husband’s car while he took cover nearby between two parked cars.

The hearing was told she drove her Vauxhall Agila around the village green opposite the house, clipped an oak tree and hit a memorial bench before her car hit the house.

Part of a wall and the bottom of the staircase was destroyed.

Her mother-in-law was inside.

Magistrates were told she had initially been angry at her husband but may have driven at his car because she was suicidal.

Her barrister Harpreet Sandhu said she was a good character but was in a “fragile” state.

She was bailed to an address in Rectory Road, Upton, for sentencing in the week beginning July 2.
