MALVERN residents have a chance to meet their emergency services during an open day on Saturday, May 5.
Taking place at Malvern Police Station, in Graham Road, between 11am-3pm, visitors can talk with staff from the police, fire and ambulance services, enjoy music from the West Mercia Police Band and meet a police horse from Avon and Somerset Police.
The event is being organised by Malvern Hills Community Safety Partnership, whose chairman Amanda Smith believes engagement with residents is a key part of driving down crime.
“Raising awareness of our community safety initiatives is a key element of our work, and ensuring residents feel safe and secure and know who to turn to is an important part of our approach,” she said.
Other organisations involved in the community safety partnership include Malvern Hills District and Worcestershire County Councils, Worcestershire NHS, Festival Housing and Neighbourhood Watch.
